Default Too shove or not too shove.

Had been pretty TAG at this table as well, thought I had a lot of fold equity preflop. His call kinda baffled me, and I thought for a little while about shoving this before eventually folding. Anybody shoving this?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (7 handed) UPF Handconverter

Button (t3115)
SB (t10675)
BB (t3720)
UTG (t3225)
Hero (t2940)
MP2 (t4020)
CO (t1225)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

BB bets t800, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t1950

Same table, same villian as above. Anybody not shoving this?

Hand #1: Pretty standard. His range on the flop has you beat.

Hand 2#: You have 5 big blinds left, easy shove against his range with the size stack he has.

I fold both preflop, actually, and don't think twice.

Hand 1 you could almost shove pre if you had a bit better hand in a bit better position. But you can't. As is, what happened is going to happen a lot, or you get restole on. If you do raise pre, definitely raise smaller.

Hand 2 you have no FE, and unless you know he is raising with like Q9 and such, then you don't have enough equity, imo. You can 'wait for a better spot,' which would be anytime you can be first in the pot.

orly? about number two, he could be raising with any two, and even though he has no fold equity he is a 59/41 favorite.

Ok, if he is raising any two, then get in there, to be sure. I just don't think that's terribly likely.

I understand what you are saying and I thought about folding it too, but the thing that got me to raise was my tight image and stack sizes. This is from a two table S&G, I posted here just because I knew you guys and wanted your feedback. We are at the FT bubble, I raised because I knew people were probably not calling or raising without a huge hand. For the second hand I put villian on any PP, any A, K5+ Q7+ suited connectors and such, because my chip stack was so low I thought this was an adequate spot to gamble.

Villain is not actually raising any two cards in this spot. Just because he could doesn't mean he is. Kimbells first reply was spot on.

Mise well make it 450 or so, then. It's cheaper for you if you get raised, and it makes stack sizes so that you can shove over a flop donk, and for a sizable amount.

edit: zomg, Bond agrees with me!
