River Rock - Vancouver, BC -- How\'s the Tournie Structure?
I'm thinking about going up to Vancouver to see a concert and play some poker. It looks like they have daily tournaments, so I was wondering if any locals out there had any knowledge of the tournament structure for the Early Bird tournaments, etc.
Exact structure isn't absolutely important, just wondering if it's an allin lottery after an hour or if it's a longer structure. Thanks ahead of time for any info. |

Re: River Rock - Vancouver, BC -- How\'s the Tournie Structure?
Daily "earlybird" tournaments have a very aggressive blind structure - $3k in starting chips and blinds typically doubling every 20 minutes (IIRC). Game turns into bingo pretty quickly.
There is usually a 250 + 20 tournament once a month that has deeper stacks, $10k in chips, 30 minute blinds with a slower blind structure. This month there is a $180 +20 tournament and every sunday has a satellite to the BC Poker Championships in November. Cash games are very good at the Riverrock, although tougher than other local casinos. Dealers and furnishings are best of the bunch too. Details available on the poker room monthly pdf http://www.riverrock.com/files/PDF/PokerSchedule07.pdf |

Thanks for the info! Compared to most Vegas tournaments, the early bird doesn't sound like too bad of a structure for the price...plus maybe the cash games can fund a more expensive tourney buy in.
Now I just need to find a ticket to see Ween. |
