Default Banks to use in Cambridge/Boston?

Going to MIT. What bank is best. Good rates on savings and no-fees on checking preferrable of course.

Oh also, this one is kinda a must. They must allow hook up to epass.

Thanks!

"Good rates on savings"

Doesn't matter as you should be linking your checking account to an ING or other online savings account.

You can even get an ING account now with free atm card and checks and get interest on your checking account balance.

If you want a B&M bank, BoA offers 5 yrs free student checking and their ATMs are everywhere.

TD Banknorth offers free checking and I think free use of any ATM, but I'm not sure.

I've had BofA and am generally a pretty satisfied customer. Their ATMs really are everywhere.

no offense, but how is it possible that you got into MIT and can't navigate the tubes of the internet?

because the epass issue is primarily tribal knowledge amongst the poker community and even this changes on a daily basis given the environment in which online poker sits. plus part of being efficient is taking the easiest route to your answer. in the end, there really isn't any nobility in doing things the hard way. i'm an engineering undergrad fwiw. I use BofA. It's definitely the most prevalent bank in Boston.

just wanted to add, don't bother with getting a CC through them because they suck.

I know of a bunch of people that got random letters in the mail increasing their interest rate and decreasing their credit limit for only making the minimum payment or "random credit processing review", etc.
