Default plastic surgery in thailand

i have always been told that plastic surgery can be done very quickly and cheaply in thailand, and that they are very sanitary and advanced in their techniques over there. can anyone confirm this?

reason why this is of interest to me: my girlfriend wants a small amount of fat removed from the area between her chin and her neck. she's a beautiful girl, but i can see why she would want this done, if she had her jaw/neck area improved she would probably be more confident and a little more attractive. i was thinking it would be fun to go to thailand for 10 days since she's never been out of the country and i have been there before, plus i could suprise her by paying for this surgery towards the end of the trip.

flame away!!!

when this goes horribly wrong, pls keep us in mind and take copious notes for a trip report.

(although i don't believe you're actually considering this....having a girlfriend even seems a bit of a stretch.)

and for the record the original post is 100 percent serious, i've heard from many people that this kind of thing gets done in thailand all the time and that the prices are super low.

Mexico is closer and might be just as cheap. People come from the US to get surgery there all the time, so the standards are often quite high. I'd look into this first. There seems more reason to trust Mexican clinics that cater to Americans and meet their standards on a regular basis, decade after decade.
