Default Quick ME Preflop spot

Level 1. I'm over 22k, probably been a little active. No one's stack is too far from starting size.

Brendan (2+2er CardSharpCook) opens to 300 in MP. Next to act (middle aged and a little loose preflop) calls. The button (middle aged and pretty straightforward/passive) makes it 1200. I have minor suit queens in the small blind. What's my action, and more importantly, my plan for the rest of the hand?

call and play cautiously unless you flop a set obv. I don't mind bet/folding on some Jxx and 10xx boards.

Call.

I hope one of the mp/mp+1 calls as well so that button wouldn't slow play AA/KK on a rag flop. Check the flop and see how much button bets, that should help you make decision. As shaundeeb pointed out it's no big deal to check/fold a Jack high flop if the button owned us from the beginning.

A pf squeeze is too risky and expensive.

your action is call and your plan is dependent on what other people do and how the board comes out.

Call.

"Minor suits queens" is going to help me remember my suits without looking while the flop is dealt so much.

Yeah, I didn't think it was that tough, I just hated the idea of calling off 1200 and losing what was bound to be a decent-sized pot soooooooo often. And after what actually happened (we went to the flop 5 ways), I started thinking that some alternate plan could have given me a better chance to take it down.

Yeah of course it could have but at the cost of a lot of equity.
