I'm a regular Vegas vistor, but have never been in a transit situation in Vegas. I'm flying from LA to Chicago with a 2.5 hr transit. I'm hoping to hop into a taxi and go to the nearest sports book to get in on some CFB action (flying to Chicago for USC vs ND this weekend).
- What is the closest sports book? MGM, Mandalay Bay or Hard Rock? Other suggestions? - It will be this Thursday night. Arriving in LV at 9:30pm, connecting flight leaves LV at 11:55pm. Can I make it??? |

Hard Rock...have the cab driver park next to the east side entrance and wait. Hopefully you're wanting dogs cause you won't get a favorable price on the favorites. You can make it easily. This sounds really retarded though, I live in Vegas and still make 80% of my wager online.

[/ QUOTE ] Time, cost, vig, lines, cash in hand, have to retrieve winnings, IRS filings, book may refuse your action, lowered maximums, insane traffic in Las Vegas. Those are just ones I could think of in the first 30 seconds. To OP, that is more than enough time. McCarren is real close. By the way, I'll be at that game also. If you have seats in a non-USC section, I would be very interested in trading with you. I have seats like 30 rows behind the USC band. Nothing like hearing the only song your band knows 8,000 times in a game. |

The hard rock is the closest, and probably the quickest, but it might be closed by the time you get there. (they used to close when the last game of the night has been settled)
Try going up to the LV Hilton. A little farther up, but just as easy in-and-out. I wouldn't figure it would take more than 1 hour door to door. |
