Noise cancelling headphones
feel free to delete or let it dissappear if this has been covered recently.
I saw some headphones mentioned in the El'd forum in the "not really overpriced" thread and was intrigued. However I'm really more interested in dealing with ambiant noise, from random background stuff, to loud TV and Music, than I am with high music quality (though that is a plus). I'd like ot hear any thoughts on A) how effective stuff is and B) suggestions on particular models. I've tried the duane reade style earplugs but they're both uncomfortable and of varying degrees of powerful. If I could use these for my Ipod that'd be a plus, but as stated before I'm more interested in being able to do homework/sleep while my roomates are blasting obnoxious stuff/screaming. Thanks! |

Re: Noise cancelling headphones
I got my self a set of Shure 200 or 300 I forget.. paid 100$
it's noise-canceling earphones, pretty comfortable/ you can sleep with it because it doesn't get in way like headphones do. |

Re: Noise cancelling headphones
do you need to be playing music? I have trouble doing homework with any real noise whatsoever and something that would give me real silence would be a big plus over something that just allowed me to play my own music without interference.

[/ QUOTE ] Shure earbuds can function nicely as noise stoppers, but if you don't need music to come through them there are certainly ways to do this for a hell of a lot less money. Something like that would probably do just fine and cost 30 cents. |

Re: Noise cancelling headphones
as mentioned I've tried these little guys from duane reade (random brands) and have found them to be varying degrees of uncomfortable/ineffective, if anyone has any particular brands to recommend I'm all ears.
