WSOP Event 34, 3k Minbet bad spot with AQ and a short stack
Down to 10 players, one 10 handed table. Psyduck is on my left, David Pham is the bb. He was playing pretty wildly, but after donking off 2/3rds of his stack in about 1 hour, he's calmed down a bit.
Limits: 10k-20k Stacks: Me: 64k Psyduck (button): 135k David Pham: 120k I'm in the CO with AQ I raise, Psyduck 3 bets, David Pham 4 bets, back to me. Do you try to get everything in here, or muck? PS: Yes I realize minbet holdem is boring, but I still have my sanity |

btn's range is wide, pham has maybe ~ TT+ AQ+, (did you really fold this?)

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, I did, for some reason at the time I thought the range was way tighter (happens like that sometimes when you play live). I really don't know what got me to do it, it's a hand that's really been bothering me, some people don't mind the fold...but the problem is the stack size. A shorter stack I get it in, a bigger stack i can *maybe* fold knowing the distinct possibility that it could go 5 bets. Edit: Also to add the fact that psyduck's reraising range is a factor with possible dead cards did enter the back of my head. But hell, flame away, I don't perceive myself to be that good anyways. Heads up, I get it in, I'm just not sure if 3 ways getting it in given the situation is correct per se, even with the money already in the pot. |

[/ QUOTE ] Umm, yeah, that extra 20k is a pretty huge difference. With 64k, you never fold, with 84k, you can fold pretty easily, especially since it's a 10 handed table. You have 6 hands this round to find a better spot, especially one where Pham isn't the BB. You have to factor in the WSOP final table factor too. A few of the guys are going to be folding a pretty wide range of hands just so they can say they made the final table of a WSOP event. |
