Do you push here?
I think the push is probably correct but am not 100 percent sure.
Little background. 600 people 10+1 on ft. Had 65k with 14 left but was actually 3rd in chips. blinds were 1500/3000 with a 250(?) ante. Lost about 2/3rd's of my chip chips in one rotation. I ended up losing 2 hands (I will explain these because I think they are important to the decisions I made in the hand). 1) (65k) sb with 10-10. 1 limper. I raise to 11k. LP limper has 16k more and pushes. I call. he has ak and turns a king. 2) MP (around 35k) AJs. I raise to 10k. LP reraised to 20k. BB goes all in for 100k. I fold. ------------ So few hands later, I am on the button with A9d. I have about 25k in chips. 1 limper. I limp. Some might think this is a mistake, and it might have been, but my justification was several fold: 1. in the bb was the chip leader with 140k and he had called some people down with some marginal hands. 2. I had burned some chips and was afraid a raise would smell of tilt, even though it wasn't, and I would get called by both limper and bb. So... A9d. 1 limper. I limp. flop comes 9hJd2d... bb bets 9k. limper folds. I move all in. bb has j10o... blank... blank... out. I was thinking this is an easy push but just wanted reassurance. |

Easy push.
Reassured? Oh, and push pre-flop. |

Re: Do you push here?
Your M is less than 6. Personally, I'd push this hand PF in this situation, and partly for the reasons you listed (for some reason) as those against raising.
One, BB and limper are going to need pretty solid hands to call a push from you at this stage, regardless of whether or not they think you're steaming. Two, if one (especially chip leader, who you are concerned with calling marginal hands) or even both of them call with weaker hands, why is this a bad thing? So push it in there, and if you get called by something weaker... great. If not, you've picked up 7500 chips, which isn't too bad a result either. As played, you push the flop every day and twice on Sunday. --TFGoose |

Re: Do you push here?
Push pf. JTo should fold to that line pf while you are still the favorite. If BB calls, so be it. Double up vs. his K9.

Re: Do you push here?
Push preflop. There are a lot of chips in the pot already.
If the BB is loose, A9s probably isn't terrible against his range, and you will probbaly be ahead a fair amount of the time. As played, do not second guess yourself on your push. That is one of the best flops you can see with this hand, so you did the right thing by getting your chips in. |

Re: Do you push here?
I would like to comment on hands 1/3:
1)Just shove PF. Your line sucks if you raise to 11k, he flat calls and flop contains any overcard. You are OOP vs. the shortstack, who is pot committed and shoves everytime you check to him. 3)Your M is so low it doesn't matter who is in BB, what they have been calling/not calling, etc. Shove |
