Do stats show ones luck?
Recently ive been playing and running very well. Unfortunetly I have begun to get a mental block and have begun to fear that my good run will end. 5/10 limit 6 max with stats 27/24.5 and 40% went to sd, 57% won $ at sd, and total af 3.4; is there a way to asses how well or lucky one is running.

Re: Do stats show ones luck?
40/57 shows some luck. I believe default is something like 35/54; in other words, you went to showdown more often, and won more often as well, one amplifying the other.
27/24.5/3.4 shows you are raising too aggressively. The VPIP% is ok, but you raise too much preflop in comparison. Also, 3.4 AF with a 27/24.5 vpip/pfr is starting to turn maniacal. When vpip/pfr becomes higher, AF should go down somewhat, and a reasonable target is around 2.5 with these stats imho. So, yes, you're lucky Don't worry, it will turn around. I sense a future $3k loss |

Re: Do stats show ones luck?
Once you have a decent baseline number, because it will vary greatly depending on the games & style you play, you can use "won $ when saw flop" as a generic barometer for how hot or cold you're running. I tend to steal a lot & win a bunch of small pots, so mine is generally in the low 40s...if I see that I'm only winning 35% of the time recently, or 25% during a table session, then I know that I'm likely running cold.

Lol that's mean. [/ QUOTE ] I've been running pretty bad; especially yesterday, when I lost another 100 BB. Therefore, I have little patience with lucky people atm |
