Default Anyone been audited for last years taxes yet?

Maybe its a bit early yet, but I think its about this time of year when people start getting audit notices. I got one this time last year for some stock transactions I screwed up and they thought I owed more tax. I just had to correct the mistakes and that was that.....but Im wondering if anyone has recieved any notices like this for gambling related reasons for tax year 2006?

I know it wasnt an audit. It was a bad use of the word on my part, but I cant think of what they call that letter they sent me.

I guess nobody got one yet?

With the advent of electronic filing no actual hard copy records are sent with tax returns. Hence the tax dept. sends out alot more enquiries now. This is routine and is defintely not an audit in most cases. They usually just want to verify large deductions, sample certain deductions, review amounts that may not agree to their records, and/or
look at unusual transactions or deductions.
