Default stiff vs. regular question

I use Pings 4-W regular shaft and Vokey SW(54deg) and LW with reg shafts.
They all work great for my swing (15 hcp).

E-bay often has matching Ping U wedges (50 deg. gapper).
I have an 8 degree and 25 yard range to fill.
I like my Ping P-wedge so much I'm even thinking of replacing the Vokeys with Ping U,S,and L wedges.
Great prices. I want one or all but...

They're mostly stiff shafts.
Regs are rare.
Would I notice the difference??

Yep. I play regs and once borrowed a set of stiffs when playing abroad. It felt like hitting a concrete block the size of jupiter and not a small golf ball.

Try out a club with a stiff shaft, perhaps your local pro-shop have a used club you can test out, you'll know very fast if stiff shafts are for you or not.

I think you can get away with it in the Wedges most of the shots you play with them won’t be full shots. In a driver or long Iron you don’t just feel the difference with a shaft that’s too stiff you see it in a lower and shorter ball flight.

Two pieces of advice I have found useful.

1. Get all your clubs with the same shaft stiffness, i.e. dont get regular iron and 3W shafts then have a hybrid and driver with stiff shafts.

2. Get fitted for clubs on a swing monitor. For the price of a round on a nice course, it worth getting some clubs that fit you and your swing.

Wedges are very often much stiffer. Your goal with wedges is accuracy which a stiffer shaft will give you. I play regular shafts (besides my driver) and "wedge flex" TM rac TP Black wedges.

What happens if, for instance, your swing (with steel shafted irons) is in the low/mid-90 mph range? Wouldn't the (lighter clubhead + graphite shaft = higher swingspeed) of a 3W/Driver necessitate a stiffer shaft?
