blog traffic

I have a blog and the only traffic is from friends basically...I submitted the blog to google and yahoo. what can I do to create more traffic?

take part in discussions that relate to the topics you blog about. these can be done through blogs and other types of online forums.

create interesting content that furthers those discussions and have people from the blogs and forums that you participate in check out your posts.
