No, cuz it's a bad influence.

Somebody, please think of the children!!!

Oh, wait... who cares if they chew tobacco?

Chewing tobacco is so freaking nasty. I know friends who chew and it absolutely disgusts me. Anyone who decides to do that stuff is just stupid.

So obviously I voted yes.

You obviously aren't aware of the dangers of secondhand chew.

Pretty soon they'll want to ban smoking in bars.

Of course they should be allowed, it's part of the "culture" of the game.

Post is really horrible without trying to present an argument for one of the two sides.

I've got no problem with it. Think it's hella gross, but it's a silly thing to ban.

They are discouraged from using it by MLB but should be allowed to if it pleases them. Besides, a very small percentage of players chew tobacco nowadays.

It will always be associated with the game, but I think it's actual practice will die out sooner rather than later. Players used to chew it to keep their mouths from drying out in the field, but most gum takes care of that now. There is also a small adrenaline boost from it but most players just switched to HGH anyway .

I don't think this is a cogent argument. For many years the culture of MLB prohibited blacks from playing, but that doesn't mean it was a smart decision. Hooliganism is part of the culture of soccer games, but that doesn't mean hooliganism is good for the game.

Just because something is part of a culture doesn't justify its existence.
