Default someone straddled on my Ace-Jack

4/8 foxwoods, the ever popular live straddle is out there. An expert play. Game is normal loose. Maniac in the Small Blind. Straddler is not very good player, and not particularly LAG. He's just mixing it up hoping to get lucky I suppose.

I have AJo in middle position.

One player directly to my right coldcalls. He is the 2nd best player at the table which isn't saying much but his hand must be halfway decent. I'm next and...?

I haven't played live in a casino so I'm not 100% what a straddle is, but if it is just basically a live blind raise by someone I'm raising. I'm probably raising if there wasn't a straddle and someone in front of me just raised as well.

OK fine you jokers. I 3-bet it. One retard coldcalls in LP and SB maniac caps it. BB coldcalls, straddler and initiall caller do too. I call and the LP calls. Great, 6 players for 4 bets each

This isn't much of a playalong but I kinda wanted to motivate discussion of play vs a straddler under certain conditions (one decent player calls, my position is fair, my hand is pretty good against a few players but the table isn't going to stand for isolation, etc.)

i.e are you going to 3-bet KQo, A9s, 99, things like that,or just coldcall?

I have A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Flop
2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Maniac SB bets out, BB and straddler fold, EMP calls, I call.

Turn
8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Maniac checks, EMP bets, I fold.

Default To the flop...

One player directly to my right coldcalls. He is the 2nd best player at the table which isn't saying much but his hand must be halfway decent. I'm next and Hero obviously 3-bets. Folded to SB (Maniac) cold-calls, 2nd-best calls... 3 to the flop.

Flop comes out 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Joker[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

2nd-best checks, Hero...?
