Billing dispute- what\'s my play? Help!!
Long story short, I cancelled my contract with only a few months left on it and because it was almost up the manager on the phone said he'd let me out with only 50% of the termination fee.
I leave the country for a few months, come back and they say I owe them the other 50% of the fee and on top of that they sold the debt to a collections agency. They refuse to talk to me about it since they have apparently already sold the debt. What's my move? Is there any way to hold them to the deal they made? How do I keep this off my credit report? |

Lawyer up or just pay it. Did you happen to multiply out your monthly charge by how much time was left and see if it was more or less than the buy out deal before you paid it?

Yeah, that's the thing, the buyout deal saved maybe $100 or $200 total.
Lawyering up isn't an option it's only $150. |

I worked in the cell phone industry. Just pay up. You can't reason with these people. They have your contract on file, and you have the word of a phone jockey.
