Default 2/4, aks, tptk on turn, standard calldown?

2/4 online. villain is tag 16/11. standard calldown right? i thought about 3betting the turn but didn't want to fold to a cap, make him fold a worse hand, or spew if behind. is this wa/wb?

Pre-flop: (8 players) babar is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG calls, 6 folds, <font color="#cc0000">babar raises</font>, UTG calls.

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2.5SB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">babar bets</font>, UTG calls.

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2.25BB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">babar bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG raises</font>, babar calls.

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6.25BB, 2 players)
babar checks, <font color="#cc0000">UTG bets</font>, babar calls.

Results:
Final pot: 8.25BB

No quite wa/wb, and I play the same. UTG could be bluffing a scare card, or have a weaker ace. A weaker Ace can fold to a 3bet possibly so just let him hang himself if he is behind while losing the min if you are behind.

This looks fine to me. I think you have villain outkicked a lot of the time.

BBB,

I play this the same, but it's hard to work out what's in his range that you're ahead of by the river. You're hoping that he limped in from UTG+3 with AJ, Axs or a drawing hand that's decided to bluff the A.

i think vs this guy you should donk/fold the flop ...

after raising the turn with a likely weak Ace (or a something like Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]) ...

you let vilian check behind a weak ace (when using a freeshow down) ... or value bet you with the flush

edit: lol, though UTG was BB ... I still think it's likely that he can be semi-bluffing a turned flush with straight draw here

I doubt 2-4 full ringers actually free sd raise enough to really worry about it. Many of those drawing hands he can't call with anyway.

I free sd all the time ... at a 2-4 UB game (Babar's game) it happens more than you would think (same at Crypto 2-4)

yeah, maybe you're right about the drawing hand not being able to call ...

but how often will you miss value from a weak ace that checks behind a rivered 3 flush card?

I play it the same. 3-betting is definitely a spew against most villains. If he has a better hand, you lose more, but if he has a worse hand, you might win less if he chooses not to call you down.
