I dunno if I should count the min raise as a real raise but... what does he raise over a 10xBB raise?
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $13.60 UTG+1: $42.30 CO: $16.80 Hero: $23.65 SB: $19 BB: $40.45 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG raises to $0.5, UTG+1 calls, CO folds, Hero raises to $2.5, SB folds, BB raises to $7, 2 folds, Hero WTF??? Do I give him credit for AA or KK here? Or should I just assume he's a 25NL donk? What is his range for making a huge raise like this? AKo, AKs, JJ+? I'm an underdog against this range right? EDIT: On a sidenote does anyone know if poker stove evaluates hands as a equal percentage of likelyhood? And if so how do you set it up so that some hands are more likely than others? |

it's not a minraise 4 bet. He raised 2.25 times my raise.

how is that superior to just shoving preflop? The best hand that has an ace or king in them, is AK itself, and I'm a favorite against that hand. it's not like AA or KK is folding to a check/raise move in or an open shove on any flop. So why not get it in now?

becuase you are 50 50 against ak when he sees all 5 cards. seeing a flop if we know he has ak he will only hit a pair 1/3 of the time and probably not call your all in push. we dont need to be coin flipping for stacks preflop

[/ QUOTE ] To set some hands as more likely than others you can either use only suited or unsuited for hands like AK, i.e. if you think there is a ~25% chance he will reraise with AK preflop, put in his range as QQ+, AKs instead of QQ+, AKo, AKs. You can also put in dead cards, which will help weight the Baysian analysis. |
