Exposed card after 2 players all in - whats the proper ruling?
NL holdem
HU to the flop of 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Player A ( Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]) bets, player B (T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) raises, A pushes all in, B calls. at this point both players flip over there hands. the turn is a K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] now for the question: the dealer burns a card as usual, but the next card (the river card) is face up on the top of the deck. It was the 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] It wasnt exposed during the hand, and became visible after the final burn card was taken off the top of the deck, after both players were all in and had shown there hands. what is the proper ruling and who is awarded the pot? |

[/ QUOTE ] A boxed card is normally treated as a "scrap of paper" and does not play. It would not even be treated as a burn card. The next card in the deck should be used as the river. |

On the deal, a player is given the next card (not the top card after the deal is complete, as is the procedure when a card is face down in the deck, but exposed when dealt). When dealing the board, it is never a burn or board card. The general rule is that two 'boxed cards' creates a misdeal. |
