AJo Hit Turn and face renewed agression
FTP .25/.50 Limit 9-max
UTG is 32.2/3.4/3.0/59 hands Heros is in HJ seat w/ A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG limps, Hero Raises, BB calls, UTG calls I raise because I want to get it to HU with position. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG re-raises, Hero calls. I raise thinking I will fold BB and get it down to HU with a LAG. I think I have the best hand but the re-raise puts me in call down mode depending what develops on later street. Turn: J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG re-raises, Hero? Right now I think I have the best hand but with another re-raise I have to reconsider. QQ beats me but I doubt he has that because of per-flop action. KT would play like that. KJ spades. Many broadway combinations with a Q which I beat. Of course I will get to showdown. How is my analyse? |

Re: AJo Hit Turn and face renewed agression
Preflop: you raise for value. If it comes HU that's a bonus.
Flop: What LAG? UTG is at worst sLPA. He looks to me like a guy that plays a few too many hands preflop for one bet, and goes nutbag when he hits, folds when he misses. Have you SEEN him go crazy postflop and showdown nothing or fold? And why do you think BB will fold anything you want him to fold, given that he cool-called pf? Smooth-call the flop, see what develops. Turn: Again, your raise does nothing for you. The only hands you get action from you're behind and drawing to 4 outs. (He can't have K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] because you have the J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].) |

Re: AJo Hit Turn and face renewed agression
i'd just call the flop.
turn raise after being 3bet on turn is bad. your hand only improved vs Qx. raising any more in this hand is hahahahard to imagine. |

Re: AJo Hit Turn and face renewed agression
k, someone cleared up the stats for me. the first thing i'd like to say is that i think the stat for pre-flop raise is freakishly low considering the vpip. i mean hell, i have a pfr of 5 with a vpip of 15, so i find it unusual for someone to have a pfr less than mine with a vpip double mine. i'm not saying the stat is wrong, i'm just pointing it out For Your Consideration.
considering the low pfr stat I do believe you would have suffered a cooler if he had you beat on the turn, and u shouldnt let it effect your future play. given the information we had, i don't believe it would be correc to assume he had us beat on the turn. considering the low pfr and sky-high vpip, the best thing to conclude is that he either a) hit a piece of the flop and is chasing a straight and/or flush draw or b) is chasing a straight or flush draw i'm a bit iffy on that re-raise on the flop. if u didnt hit that jack on the turn, would u have just called down? and that is a scary board. not to mention, the ace of spades is a dangerous card also. but that aside i'll give my input of what to do from the turn i seriously doubt that UTG, on the turn, has trip jacks beat. AQ or KQ with the ace/king of spades is a very likely hand. AT spades is also another likely card, and on the flop, having either of those two hands gives him justification to cap the bet. i believe that was a loose re-raise on his part on the turn (unless he has us beat, which i don't believe he currently does) so after his re-raise on the turn i reccommend just calling it down. a spade on the river would be a terrible card, not to mention an Ace, king, T, and i'd even be nervous of another queen (potentially giving him queens over) so just call it down from there, thats my input |
