quick fix for full tilt sound problem

i have a dell laptop and full tilt's sound tends to die five or ten minutes after i start a session. my understanding is that this is a common problem.

well, i accidentally stumbled across a solution to the problem the other day. once the sound dies, fire up a youtube video. when the video starts, you'll hear a jumbled version of the sound full tilt makes when the action gets to you on a table, and then the sound will stick for the remainder of the session.
