I'm looking to replace my desktop with a laptop.
I have a 1600x1200 dell 20" monitor so don't really need such high res laptop screen (and I'm wary tables will be too small on 1920 x 1200 17" laptops?) From what I've seen the laptops available tend to be 1920 x 1200 17". So are there any good 17" with 1600 x 1200? I have $2.5k - $3k to spend |

Most, if not all, 17" laptops have widescreen displays because standard 4x3 would be awkward. 1920x1200 is really not that different from 1600x1200 on a 17" screen anyways. Tables will not be too small. If you want super high resolution for a laptop you can always go with the M2010 |

Interesting machine that, 20" screen laptop! Looks a bit too bulky to be able to lounge about with it on my lap on the sofa though.
That large screen seems to have too many drawbacks (battery drainage, weight, price)... Thanks anyway and you've given me some confidence in me 1920x1200 screens. |

It's almost near impossible to find quality like this anymore:

I was joking about the 20" laptop. It's a complete waste of money.
Notice the laptop jumbojacks suggested has a 15" screen. |

Max res on my dell 17 is 2048x1536. Trick is to get a good videocard and the truelife high end lcd. It's not even really that expensive. I got mine about a year ago for $1400 with dual 2gig processor. Try techbargains.com for up to date deals and coupons.
