Playing strong hands weak, looking to induce bluffs. 100NL
This player just showed his cards after a triple barrel bluff worked on the river a few hands back. Other than that, no reads. I’ve been playing pretty standard TAGish for the most part.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) UTG ($122.40) MP ($85.25) CO ($112.25) Button ($57) SB ($56.20) Hero ($211.20) Preflop: Hero is BB with K, K. UTG calls $1, 2 folds</font>, Button calls $1, SB completes, Hero raises to $6</font>, UTG calls $5, Button folds, SB folds. Flop: ($14) K, T, 2(2 players)</font> Hero bets $6</font>, UTG calls $6. Turn: ($26) K (2 players)</font> Hero bets $15</font>, UTG calls $15. River: ($56) 3 (2 players)</font> Hero checks Had the turn locked obv and wanted him to put in draw money. I was planning on playing it weak and checking the river if the draws missed hoping to induce a bluff, I played it so weak that I expected him to fire if he missed…seeing me as really weak. I couldn’t see much paying off and since he had shown the ability to bluff (and proud of it too, by showing it) I’ll play big hands like this often. Pick this apart if it looks like I’m losing value anywhere here…or if I should just bet the river. Thanks. |

i love it
Lead turn is great as c/c may arouse suspicion and if he checks behind you have no more money in the pot. Given your read on villain and your line he probably can't resist trying to bluff you off this. nh sir |

This would work very well against me .
With your read, I think its ok. Otherwise I like to just value bet the river.. |

I like this, although I think we can squeeze a bit more out on the flop and turn. Maybe $10 on the flop, then $24 into $32 on the turn. I don't like the small flop bet mainly because I am never doing this with air or a marginal hand.
I guess his range is a flush draw, some underpairs, and maybe a weak ten that limp calls preflop from utg. I guess we just push over any river bet he makes, but don't expect to be called by much. |

I tend to find that most of the time it is just getting checked down after you check, what about a half pot bet to try to induce a bluff shove?

[/ QUOTE ] I thought about that, but it wasnt to induce a bluff. It woulda been to get value out of J10/Q/10 type hand which is well in the villians range. |

Think I =prefer a valuebet here against a T.
Only drawing hand out there was QJ and I think that can check behind a lot if it doesn't feel it can represent a bluff. |

I checked it and he ended up checking behind with Jc9c. Although it didn't work out, I liked this play and will use it on occasion. I think maybe I shoulda taken into account that he HAD shown a bluff a few hands back and would be less likely to try one so soon.

I hate your betsizing on the flop. Close to pot, or atleast 3/4. QJ is still out there and paying.
