expanding 4 betting range?
Pretty simple post
Villain is good regular and was 3 betting me a decent amount. 4bet pf=allin right? I mix this up with just calling (Just like I play AA+KK) Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) internettexasholdem.com SB ($442) BB ($400) Hero ($972.40) MP ($151.40) Button ($106) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2. Hero raises to $16, 1 fold, SB (poster) raises to $54, 1 fold, Hero raises to $316, SB calls $440 (All-In), Hero calls $126. |

Re: expanding 4 betting range?
4-bet w/ AK there should be to the amount of has the most fold equity, so whatever you feel represents AA more out of push or a smaller raise (obviously calling ai).

Re: expanding 4 betting range?
I hate 4betting here you raise utg and get 3bet from the sb he's not doing it with a wide range.

Re: expanding 4 betting range?
utg makes a different but if it was only 3 handed, this is good. but dont 4 bet that much, better to make it 2.25-3.25 times his bet size (call poooosh LDO)

Re: expanding 4 betting range?
If you want to 4-bet you have to 4-bet more than just AK.
and when he repops your UTG open from the SB, thats pretty strong. this may not be the spot for it. |

Re: expanding 4 betting range?
If you put him on a 3-bet range of
66+,AJs+,AQo+,KQs,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s and a call push range of JJ+,AQs+,AKo Then it is +$37.71 ev. Against someone who 3-bets a lot vs CO raises, I don't think pushing AK can be bad as long as you are mixing it up by doing the same with AA and worse hands once in a while. btw, given those ranges, JJ+,AQs+,AKo is the +$ev range. EDIT: and if you give him a $400 stack (instead of $440ish) with the same ranges then pushing 22 here is marginally +$ev. The problem is that if he knows you can push 22 here then he widens his call range and yadda yadda yadda. rvg www.rvgsoftware.com for free page to calculate this. |

insta fold [/ QUOTE ] This seems so exploitable... the guy is 3-betting you reasonably often from a CO raise. Probably 8 to 10% of the time if he's an aggressive player. He's going to fold 3/4 of that range to a reraise and if he calls the other 1/4 of the time you are looking decent against his range. rvg |
