Wrong spot ?
Sunday Million guaranteed $215
300 players left I feel I made the wrong move here. Anyone Agree, Disagree? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t10000 (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com BB (t121456) UTG (t217518) UTG+1 (t57634) MP1 (t366770) MP2 (t287486) MP3 (t199280) CO (t120340) Hero (t57580) SB (t154592) Preflop: Hero is Button with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 5 folds, CO raises to t40000, Hero raises to t57080, 2 folds, CO calls t17080. Flop: (t117660) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Turn: (t117660) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) River: (t117660) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: t117660 My logic was the CO range's was Ax, any two high cards,22+,AA. A coin flip at best I figured. However at this stage, with my M under 4 and shortstacked it may not be a bad spot. After one more orbit my M will be under 3 and will have Zero fold equity. I am thinking it may have been a better move to: (a) push any two first in the next 5 five hands, or (b) hope to catch some sort of hand and push first in, rather than coin flip at best in this spot. My image has been ultra tight and table is in push/fold mode. I've shown down QQ two orbits ago. Any thoughts? |

Re: Wrong spot ?
I'd probably like some FE to get my short stack in here. You have a couple of hands and can wait for first in vigorish.
In the spot you were in, after CO basically pushed his short stack, I would like 88+, ATs+, AJ+ to play. |

Re: Wrong spot ?
Well, you definitely have less FE with this move than if you waited, because of your stack size compared to the size of the raise. You're hoping for a race. At this point, you gain a lot of EV by being the first into the pot, and I would rather push any two in this situation being the first into the pot than make a move with no FE.

Re: Wrong spot ?
Fisk/Geoff,
You guys are missing the point here. The OP has a pure coinflip with a huge overlay. He has to call. Assuming 250 chip antes (is that right?) The hero has to put in 47080 to win 121660. The hero is 50/50 to win the pot. It is an easy call. OP, your mistake in the tournament was not this hand. It was letting your stack get so low that this hand had to happen |

Re: Wrong spot ?
Cornell,
500 ante Yes, I agree...no spot seemed to be the right spot to move...waited to long. |
