Default Indiana A5s hand - 3949373614

Amazing work by all involved.

I'm not sure how you want to discuss these hands, but I figured it makes sense to discuss them in separate threads, so I created a separate thread.

Anyway. The hand below didn't receive a single comment.
A couple notes...
- The villian has made a couple questionable limps and donkish plays previous to this. He hasn't done anything crazy, so I don't think he's a calling station. Just bad.
- The blinds go up to 200/400 shortly, and you will have to pay them in 4 hands.

Zer0Signal folds.
Indyguy28 folds.

In 4 hands, you are posting 1/4 of your stack. Something needs to be done. Indy chose to wait and then push 86s from UTG. That's fine, but I would've gone after the 700 chips in this pot instead.

I think you may have misread the HH. The guy didn't limp, he minraised. Or are you really willing to push over a raise here?

I disagree that something needs to be done, sometimes just sucking down a blind is the least -EV option available. He is raising in early position into 6 random hands indicating a hand range that A5s is way behind. With only 8BBs the hero probably doesn't have enough FE to overcome the frequency of getting called by dominating hands.

I might be. I've gotten the distinct impression that this guy sucks.

We are in a really bad spot here. The blinds have been too small to steal and build our stack. Meanwhile, they will double to 200/400 just in time for him to pay them, so he'll be blinded down to 900 6 hands from now.

I'm not saying I like this plan....but I'm considering it.

I agree with the fold he made here, the minraiser was the tightest player on the table up to this point who had played some hands. I think Indy would've been WB here.

I've said it before, I'll say it again... worry about the blinds going up after it happens. It's no excuse for clearly -EV plays now.

I will say that I did a bit of math for a similar situation recently and realized that I probably play too tight in these spots. I think A9s is probably a push here, for example, but I had been folding it routinely.

Dude, A9s is way better than A5s. A5s just sucks.

Yeah, I know. I was just sayin' that maybe I reacted so strongly to the idea of pushing A5s because until recently I wouldn't even have seriously considered pushing the much stronger A9s.
