bubble question stars $6/48
Top 7 paid, final table.
Folded to Hero in the SB. What is the right way to play this and why? I think there is a decent chance we are ITM even if we push and lose, and I think BB's proper calling range for a push is AA/KK only. I think it is an easy spot to push most starting hands and pick up T1200 plus the antes. Comments? Re: bubble question stars $6/48
This is very read dependent. Does the BB call a lot from the BB? If the BB is tight I shove any 2. If the BB is looser about calling all ins from the BB than I'd tighten up some.
With no read I shove almost any 2 (top 85% sounds right) the first time. I disagree the BB's calling range is AA/KK. Just making the money isn't that important, if the BB doubles up here he has a good chance to win and likely make top 3, which is a lot more money than 7th. |

[/ QUOTE ] You don't play tourneys to make the money. Making the money gets you nowhere, you have to go for first to make anything worthwhile. This is why there is no reason that his calling range here would be AA/KK. He is def. calling with JJ+, AQ+ maybe even AJ and 10s. You should still be pushing alot of hands into him though, just don't think to yourself "how can he make that call" when he turns over 10s or something. |

Re: bubble question stars $6/48
I agree with all the posters saying push a lot of hands, but his calling range is going to be much larger. It's probably something like A5+ KT+ 22+ and some other cards that look pretty.
