T9s turn c/rai bluff
Villain is 28/17/2.5.
I double barreled him oop in a previous pot, where he whined about how I was lucky to have outdrawn him. We had a little chat and I told him I was bluffing. He is single tabling, and clearly made it personal against me. Last 3 orbits he raised UTG, and the only time it went to sd he had Q9s. When somebody reraises him and he folds he chats about it saying how lucky he is to have hit his hand. I am 20/16/5, and checked some good hands against short stacks and reraised all in previously. In this hand I think he is trying to float, so unlike last time, I decide to c/r the turn. Like it? I put him on air obv. dont bluff someone who has it out for you [/ QUOTE ] Agree, and also you're repping a reaaaaaaaally narrow range. If the board was like 762 and the turn was an ace, I'd like this better. |

Re: T9s turn c/rai bluff
So basically we think he has an ace most of the time? And he calls with an ace all of the time?
I think I am basically repping an ace here. This is how I played my AK etc. against short stacks previously in similar spots, and I think he is paying close attention to what I am doing. |

Re: T9s turn c/rai bluff
Also, I didn't even realize it, but preflop is [censored] atrocious. Even 4-handed. He called your bet in a 3-bet pot with an ace on the board, he's not bluffing.

Re: T9s turn c/rai bluff
Well obviously I am representing a bigger hand than I have pf, since he raised UTG much and most of the time he had junk.
This isn't a standard play or anything. This is my experiment in 3betting light vs. people who raise light. If you say "by calling the flop, he surely has an ace, and he will also never fold an ace" then I understand. Otherwise, please try to see this as an light 3-betting experiment, and trying to salvage something out of it postflop (that's really what it is btw. I am just trying to find more spots to raise and I thought this was one). I just didn't want to let this pot go. |

Re: T9s turn c/rai bluff
preflop is fine, turn is bad. Given it's a 3bet pot, he's probably not floating lightly. Just muck

Re: T9s turn c/rai bluff
This is also infinitely better with outs. If you're called here you're drawing dead to a chop

Re: T9s turn c/rai bluff
Bluffing here is bad for so many reasons:
- As you said, he's been playing back at you. He's going to be much more stubborn against you than your average player - especially after you gave him cause to believe you were a bluffer. - He's already put 1/2 his stack in when you decide to c/r the turn. It's really hard to bluff when you're giving 3-to-1 on a call with nothing behind. - You're doing this with air, so you really only have fold equity. This play would be better (but still bad) if you had some kind of draw to fall back on). |
