So I just had my worst session of poker ever so far and I have to post some of the hands that killed me today. I'll split them up though, so hand numero 1 about to come right now. All comments welcome, I think my judgement is pretty off the hook right now:
Villain here is running 72/13/0.48 but has been really lucky so far... I run 16/10. Full Tilt Poker, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 8 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter MP2: $8.70 CO: $47.40 BTN: $48.75 SB: $51.95 Hero (BB): $49.25 UTG: $85 UTG+1: $55.20 MP1: $23.40 Pre-Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB) UTG calls $0.50, 6 folds, Hero checks Flop: ($1.25) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $1, UTG raises to $2, Hero calls $1 Turn: ($5.25) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, UTG bets $5.25, Hero raises to $15, UTG calls $9.75 River: ($35.25) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, UTG bets $35.25, Hero ? |

I like it. I might've just bet out the turn, but c/r worked fine.
River I get my chips in everytime. They don't have boats or quads that often. I think you have good equity against villain's range but they do get lucky every now and then. |

Value bet or value shove river. Checking runs the risk of him checking behind a lower flush or a King (a 72/13 can very easily have a King here). As played, snap-call.

I'm still grinding out 25, so for my own benefit rather than yours...
My line on the turn would have been bet/three bet all-in, but if you're going to check raise, why so little? You're offering 2.6:1 here. I would definitely call this river, as there is a lot more stuff you beat than stuff that beats you. |

I 3 bet the flop here to around 7 and bet/3bet ai on the turn. .48 isn't terribly aggro, but with his high vpip, it's not exactly super passive either. I think this is a set more often than a K (would an AF that low be playing TP this aggro?) and find a fold on the river.
I'm also with cherubashka on the turn raise size. You don't want to give him odds to boat up on the river (if he has a set). If you're checking the turn to c/r, it might as well be all-in as any odds-denying raise is going to commit you. |

My thought process for c/r was: I was pretty sure that he was going to bet out if I check to him after he raised flop. Furthermore, I was pretty sure that if I would've bet the turn, he would not have raised there because donking the turn after getting raised on the flop is a pretty strong play here IMO. So I guess I messed it up on the turn not making the c/r bigger although I'm pretty sure he would've called a bigger raise as well.
River: so general opinion here is that river call is standard here, right? |
