Really interesting overpair hand.
Vs a guy named James. Different James, can be pretty spazzy PF and will play somewhat lag postflop
In the last two hours, probably last hour really. James: Raised T7s utg1 in a time pot which he was in. 3bet me with KQo, checked behind on a 963r flop. I had T4o BB KTx it got checked through and I checked knowing he'd bet turn 100% and c/c c/c river(considered c/r honestly) After 3betting me with KQo and winning against my TT I decided to burn him alive so he 3bet me when I had As Qs and I capped in a 3 way pot. Flop came Ks Js x and I led. I CR'd turn and he folded because I rule. So that's James. The hand. James is SB I am BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q:Spade: I raise and it's 5 of us to flop. 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet, one moron calls, James calls. 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] turn. I bet, caller folds James CR I call. River T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I raise. |

Re: Really interesting overpair hand.
I think I just call the river. If he's trying to bluff you off the hand with the turn check/raise with air then he's not calling a raise anyways. Is he really going to call a river raise with 9x? And if he's check/raising the turn on a semi-bluff draw, a lot of draws just got there (flush, straight).

Re: Really interesting overpair hand.
I don't like it.
To be honest I'm not sure if you are value raising or bluffing but I don't think either is going to work very well. |

Re: Really interesting overpair hand.
Well he'd CR a nine here. So I don't see it being very different than 3betting the turn.

[ QUOTE ]
I 3 bet the turn and call the river. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. What hands do you think you get value from? Do you think he'll call with a lone pair of nines? This seems to be the only holding Villain could have that makes this play justifiable. What if he has two pair (which is a reasonable possibility judging from the turn raise), do you think he will call your river raise? Note that both the flush and 78 got there on the river, and he's definitely going to be calling/raising with either of those. On a somewhat related note, are you calling a 3-bet? |

Re: Really interesting overpair hand.
If I 3bet the turn and he has me beat he's 4betting 100% of the time. He'll also fold here for sure if I have him beat. If I call and raise the river he's more apt to call because people tend to call when they get rivered so they can let everoyne know how unfortunate they are.

Re: Really interesting overpair hand.
i would just call down from the checkraise. he's either bluffing or has you crushed a majority of the time.
