25 NL: TPWK on monotone board
Table is generally loose-passive. I’m playing at 16/12/3 over 300 hands (probably doesn’t mean anything for this hand; I’m just happy that I’m finally able to show aggressive stats)
UTG ($9.60 in chips) UTG+1 ($17.05 in chips) MP1 ($11 in chips) MP2 ($23.55 in chips) HJ ($24.50 in chips) CO ($109.65 in chips) BU ($43 in chips) SB ($10 in chips) Hero ($34.85 in chips) Hero is BB with 5s Ks Two folds, MP1 calls $0.25, three folds, BU calls $0.25, SB completes, Hero checks Flop ($1) Kh 9h 3h SB checks, Hero??? So, we have two three limpers, and it’s very likely that I have the best hand right now. But if I bet, no one with a K, 9, 3, PP or reasonably high heart will fold, as the table is very loose-passive, and my hand is vulnerable to a whole bunch of turn cards. OTOH, if I don’t bet, there is ~100% chance that someone with a K, 9, 3, PP or reasonably high heart will bet, and I’d rather not get involved at that point. So my default here is to c-f. But when I do, I feel that a real player would be able to make money here, and that I’m really just a weak-tight fish pretending to be a TAG. OK, this isn’t such a big hand, but these situations come up a lot, and I have a suspicion that they add up to a lot of value that I’m losing. |

Re: 25 NL: TPWK on monotone board
I think most people will check and usually fold.
I prefer to lead in these spots. I think a lot of times people float limped pots and you pick it up with another bet on turn. If a heart comes you can easily let it go. If you get a lot of resistance it is an easy fold. I have heard many people say c/f that are better players than me but I think there is easily value here. edit: also, obv. you can pick it up on flop too |

edit: also, obv. you can pick it up on flop too [/ QUOTE ]against 3 players this is overly optimistic IMO. I'd bet this HU and 3 ways is close but 4 is def. c/f for me. |

4 handed on a monotone board you are most likely getting a call and facing awkward decisions on future streets

c/f. I think i might give it a shot if i had raised PF, as people might put me on a K.
