NLT - Tricky spot with flush and deep stacks
Blinds are 10/20 but in Swedish SEK. It is equivalent to $1.5/3.
(In this hand I only want comments on the turn play!! The reason I limped was because I wanted BB to be in the pot, since his post flop skills were very bad. The reason I limp-re-raised was in order to isolate the bad player, gain inítiative, build the pot in position etc. But as I said - it is the turn that I want comments on.) Analysis: tom4 is a poker beginner. He started with 1500 or so and has built his stack by catching miracle draws out of position to big pot bets. He was a loose/passive player. After his last win, 30 minutes ago, he has become VERY yellow/conservative and seems to fold a lot pre flop and from what I can gather he doesn't seem to be wanting to risk a lot. Still - he is a BIGH fish and time and time again he has proved that he has no clue about the "fundamentals". He doesnt know why to valuebet, he doesn't understand implied odds etc. etc. Pre-flop this is the first hand he has raised in 30 minutes or so. 10.00/20.00 Texas Hold'em (No Limit ) Gwen 16 (Vanlig /Cash Game ) Seat 1: -N- (921.18) Seat 2: wroom (1716.25) Seat 3: tom4 (7667.50) Seat 4: Polar-Bear (3947.25) Seat 5: HERO (4531.85) -N- Pays SB 10.00 tom4 Pays BB 20.00 ** Dealing cards ** -N- [N/A, N/A] tom4 [N/A, N/A] Polar-Bear [N/A, N/A] HERO [6h, 7h] Polar-Bear Fold HERO Calls 20.00 -N- Calls 20.00 tom4 Raises to 80.00 HERO Raises to 200.00 -N- Fold tom4 Calls 200.00 Flop: [6d, Ah, 5h] tom4 Checks HERO Bets 400.00 tom4 Calls 400.00 Turn: [6d, Ah, 5h, Jh] Pot is: 1205 tom4 Checks HERO Bets 876.00 tom4 Raises to 1752.00 HERO ????? |

Re: NLT - Tricky spot with flush and deep stacks
if he doesnt know what he is doing I think you gotta least call here or just stick it all in, in the event that he just has an ace or ace with heart kicker, This is a very weird line from him. I'm such a pussy deepstacked tho, so you can always call turn and call river or bet if checked to, but I think I just go all in on the turnb/c it looks like he possibly has a pair+ draw.

Re: NLT - Tricky spot with flush and deep stacks
I agree that a fold is out of the question.
An alternative line would be to call and fold/check if the board pairs on the river, and if it doesn't then fold to a pot bet but call the smaller ones. My spontaneous thought was AAA or JJJ on his part. He actually had Kh8h which proves the point I was talking about. He ddidn't do that with a clear plan of deception in mind, but because he was bored, tired whatever.... irrational. My line pre flop is not as brutal as it looks. I am expecting him to only 4-bet me with AA/KK due to the conservative gear he is in. And he may very well decide to slowplay those hands to as the fish likes to do... |
