100NL -- checkraise on turn
UTG
UTG + 1 Villain [$80.50] Abdullaev [$92.00] BTN SB BB Seven-handed full ring. UTG and UTG + 1 fold. Villain (12-6-1.1 over 120 hands) raises to $4, I call with Jh Jd. All else fold. Flop [Th 7s 2c] Villain bets $8, I call. Turn [4d] Villain checks, I bet $18, villain raises to $48. What to do here? How strong do you think a checkraise is on the turn like this? I am pretty sure he used this exact line against another player a dozen hands earlier. Other dude folded. How often do you see this as a delayed bluff to attack floaters? |

Re: 100NL -- checkraise on turn
I think villain has at least an overpair, since you have the lowest overpair possible I would fold.

Re: 100NL -- checkraise on turn
this is a strong move
people don't usually bluff like this, it is committing a hell of a lot of chips. I would assume he's not doing this w/o some history. in this situation it is an easy fold |

Re: 100NL -- checkraise on turn
I played the hand badly but ended up with a good result. I called the turn, a blank came on the river, we both checked, and he showed Ah Kh. If I hadn't seen him do the same move a dozen hands earlier and gotten suspicious, I probably would've folded. I think he thought I was floating, and that's why I figured he made the play.
Maybe he was experimenting. I don't know him well enough to guess. I agree that it does seem like a very expensive way to try to trap floaters who are turn bluffing. |

Re: 100NL -- checkraise on turn
Check behind on the turn. Fold to c/r without read. I'd need more than one recent hand to call this. Glad it worked out.

Re: 100NL -- checkraise on turn
yeah, basically at this point your best hope is that they're overplaying AK/AQ. i used to call a lot in these spots and usually you get shown the goods here (ie QQ+ or a set). For me to call in this spot, the villain would need to be 35/15 over a large no of hands.
