Set Tens in trouble? NL 50
I just moved up from NL 25 to NL 50, then this happens
$0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em MP +1 Hero ($58.25) CO ($6.75) BTN ($103.31) Not playing ($50.00) SB ($52.40) BB $46.50) UTG ($93.85) UTG +1 ($24.00) UTG +2($66.30) MP ($63.55) HOLE CARDS Dealt to Hero[T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] 2fold, UTG +2 raises $1.75, 1 fold, Hero calls, 1 fold, BTN calls,2 fold FLOP [9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] UTG +2 raises $6.00, Hero raises to $24.00, BTN raises to $84.00, UTG +2 folds, Hero? BTN is 23/3/2, over 350 hands mainly NL 25 . What do I do here? I feel that he might push here with either a set 9 or Q or a made straight. Are there any other hands he might do this with? If not, could I fold, I'm getting 2-1 on my money. Normaly I don't even consider folding a set, but this was so strong. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Set Tens in trouble? NL 50
He can have plenty of hands you beat. AA, KK, AQ, 99. Once you raise this flop to 24, you're committed. Call and hope for the best. If you were concerned about a re-raise, you should not have committed yourself with such a large raise...not that I think it was a mistake, but let's face it, when you've put in 50% of your stack, you're committed!
Results be damned, just reload and keep plugging along. |

Re: Set Tens in trouble? NL 50
This is an instacall.
Button is about as likely to have QT or T9 vs. KJ (count the combos) Button is about as likely to have 99 as QQ. Even if button range is ONLY 99,QQ,QT,T9,KJ then you have to call this. Add to this the possibility to boat up if villian does have KJ and it's an easy call even if you just called the UTG+2 bet and the button pushed. After your raise, you're close to having odds to call the push and boat up if the villian flipped up KJ no hearts. Add to this a good chance the villian has a draw that you beat like Ax hearts, or a nasty combodraw like AJ hearts, then you have a REALLY clear call. If the dipstick has AA I hope you stacked his a$$. |

You're getting much better than 2 to 1 and you're a huge favorite. I don't know wtf the problem is here.

Re: Set Tens in trouble? NL 50
I forgot about 2 pair, although I wonder if a callingstation like this would be so aggressive with that. Anyways I figured I had to call and ofc he showed me QQ, hence my post here.
Thx for confirming the ideas I had during play. |
