400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
Villain is a semi-LAG regular 25/19/2.8 and plays very aggressive, lots of 3-bets and fancy lines. I think the hand is tough because of the metagame since we played this hand less than 10 minutes earlier :

Re: 400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
In the first hand, I think I raise the flop and try to get it in. As played I think I raise the turn.
In the second hand, I think calling the flop is std. It sucks to raise on the flop and have him push. |

Re: 400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
Hand 1 (I know its not in question, but your play just baffles me.) Why not raise flop, or atleast turn? I think river is pretty spot on but I don't understand flop or turn.
Hand 2 - Just call right here, and call any non spade river. I don't raise the flop. However, I could see doing a 3-bet on turn and folding to another reraise, but the fact that your so deep, I think its really bad in retrospect. |

Re: 400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
Not raising at some point in Hand 1 is terrible.
Hand 2, stack sizes make this one kinda awkward since you really don't want to get 3-bet on the flop 200BB deep and this guy sounds like he would do it with a wide enough range to make you very uncomfortable but not spew... calling down seems good, imo. If he's betting 4th spade on the river, I fold, and betting/calling check-raise on a blank. Kirk |

Re: 400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
with 200bb i think you should play this hand passively, call turn and call a non-spade river.
What is his sn, im curious |

Re: 400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
In hand 1, whats your thoughts behind your flop / turn line, and what river cards are you caling?
Hand2, on turn I really only see 1 option? (calling), due to the absence of a flop raise. River is obviously dependent on cards and the timing of villains action. |

Re: 400NL - AK facing donk bet on monotone flop
hand 2: call turn
if you think the K9 vs QJ hand is still in his mind, id consider folding to a 3/4 pot bet on the river even if the river is a non-spade, id call anything less tho |
