NL25 - Had no idea what to do .. 2 hands
Not much info in villain. He's not a loose or spewy player.
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) CO ($25.70) Hero ($27.15) SB ($23.90) BB ($26) UTG ($60.85) MP ($27.55) Preflop: Hero is Button with 6, A. 2 folds</font>, CO raises to $0.85</font>, Hero calls $0.85, 2 folds</font>. Flop: ($2.05) A, 8, T (2 players)</font> CO bets $1.25</font>, Hero raises to $3.5</font>, CO raises to $5.75</font>, Hero calls $2.25. Turn: ($13.55) 4 (2 players)</font> CO bets $9</font>, Hero ???? ^^ Is it worth it for me to call or shove here? Or should I muck? Next hand at a diff table and diff villain. He is a solid tag. Hes a regular. 5 min ago, he raises pf from dealer position, and I 3 bet him from the big blind. He folds and says "do it again" Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards) UTG ($71.90) MP ($47.80) CO ($57.80) Hero ($28.65) SB ($29.75) BB ($25) Preflop: Hero is Button with , . 1 fold</font>, MP raises to $1</font>, 1 fold</font>, Hero calls $1, 2 folds</font>. Flop: ($2.35) , , (2 players)</font> MP bets $1.5</font>, Hero calls $1.50. Turn: ($5.35) (2 players)</font> MP bets $4.6</font>, Hero calls $4.60. River: ($14.55) (2 players)</font> MP bets $10.55</font>, Hero ??? ^^Does villain value bet with AQ/AJ? The way I played it, it looks like a flush draw, so I thought he might be trying to get value from AQ/AJ. Do we call here? If we have AQ/AJ, do we call? <font color="red"> </font> <font color="red"> </font> <font color="red"> </font> <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> </pre><hr /> <font color="red"> </font> |

Re: NL25 - Had no idea what to do .. 2 hands
flat flop in hand one. fold pf in hand two. in hand one if he calls your raise you are beat so much, so i would just call and re-eval. turn. as played you have to call his 3b, then fold turn i think. also, raising the flop in hand one opens yourself up to being blown off your hand (which given the action is likely just a flush draw going into that turn.)

Re: NL25 - Had no idea what to do .. 2 hands
i would fold pf in hand one also, i didn't read the pf action the first time. it seems like you have a lot of trouble postflop, so you should avoid calling raises with marginal hands like suited aces and aTo (which is like the king of marginal hands).

[/ QUOTE ] Hand 2 - I had position so I decided to see a flop with it. I think my biggest mistake was not raising the flop.... but as played, do you call river? |

i would shove river if his bet doesn't put you all-in.

Re: NL25 - Had no idea what to do .. 2 hands
but seriously, fold pf in hand two. if he is a "solid tag" then aTo is one of the worst hands to be calling his raises with. if you want to get tricky, 3-bet him (although i don't like that either), but don't call.

Re: NL25 - Had no idea what to do .. 2 hands
Hand 1 -
If you're going to call with a weak Suited ace... and you hit this flop... Do your best to get it all in on the flop. Otherwise, fold this preflop. as played - first raise should be higher - Raise it up to about $5. ($4.50 is a call then pot sized raise). When he raises you again, there's already $8.25 in the pot..., just shove. (and if you're not going to shove now, then just fold this hand preflop... you're not going to flop a flush (and get paid off) enough to call otherwise. Hand 2 - fold preflop. As played... if you got that turn, raise, shove, whatever... |

Re: NL25 - Had no idea what to do .. 2 hands
Hand 1: Raise on the flop should be higher here, and 4bet shoving the flop is good here because against a range of AA, TT, 88, AQs+, ATs, AQo+, ATo, you have about 41% equity. Take away one pair hands and it is about 35%. I'm not gonna do the math, but I think that is good enough.
