Flop ($85) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet $60, villain calls. Turn ($205) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet $150, villain raises to $450, What would you do here and why? |

Its a good spot for him to float and push you off with a semi bluff like JT etc. Really tough without history.

very tough spot.. any pair with Tx or 7x as the adjoining card may well play the turn like this.. while on the other hand, we're drawing dead to QT and sets and in poor shape against a bunch of potential two pair hands.
i probably get it in against a bad lag but don't mind folding for reduced variance. i don't think there is much difference long term in this spot to be honest but showing him you are not going to be pushed off hands easily is probably a deciding factor here. |

Hah. I thought I recognised this. This hand is from NLHE:TAP page 184. It's just given as an example of how a good LAG will put you in tough situations, the authors don't give any suggestions on how to deal with it. Typically against a very aggressive player I would check/call the turn here and reevaluate river. Betting that board with a TAG image is begging to get raised by an aggressive player.
