Format & installing a second hard drive?
I have two internal 80 gig harddrives on my computer; windows and applications on C:\, media on D:\. I backed up all my stuff to an external drive, and reformatted/reinstalled windows on C:\, but the D:\ drive doesn't seem to be showing up. How can I reformat D:\ and get it back up and running?
Thanks! |

Re: Format & installing a second hard drive?
You shouldn't have to format the second drive, if it was working before you reinstalled Windows. If it shows up in Disk Management (Under Administrative Tools->Computer Management in the Control Panel). You can assign a drive letter there. If not, check cable connections, etc. If it's on a scsi controller, you may need to install a driver. Otherwise, Windows should recognize it.

Re: Format & installing a second hard drive?
Make sure you can see it in Bios. That's the most basic of hardware tests.
