3 betting KQ from BB and nittish TAG stealer calls
Villain is 22/12/2.2 after beacoup de hands. I think his steal % was between 20 and 25.

Re: 3 betting KQ from BB and nittish TAG stealer calls
I'd fold preflop rather than reraise. 22/12 seems pretty tight even if he is raising on the button.

Re: 3 betting KQ from BB and nittish TAG stealer calls
PF is OK. Bet bigger on the flop($90) and definitely bet the turn say $200+. His range is AK KQ AQ QJs JTs 99 88 77 maybe TT 66.. you have most of these beat and you're repping a bigger hand OOP.

I like 3betting here, QK is still good vs his openingrange.
I would lead out on turn 196ish. As played shove |

Wow. I'm really very surprised at the responses. I don't see him calling this flop with anything I beat. He's just too nitty.

Re: 3 betting KQ from BB and nittish TAG stealer calls
i think the pf rr is big, especially if were not continuing when we hit top pair. Id much rather do this with suited connectors given the way you played this hand since i think KQ has too much value against someone with a 25% att steal.

Re: 3 betting KQ from BB and nittish TAG stealer calls
ttgirl, I find your comments very interesting.
The reason we typically raise more than the size of the pot (with 100BB stacks) is to cutoff the implied odds of players hoping to flop a set (pushing them out of the 5/10 rule range). You said the pf rr is big if we're not continuing when we hit top pair. Perhaps if I'm against a tighter more predictable player, it would be better to simply reraise to the size of the pot, since his hand is so readable and therefore his implied odds are already low. I don't fully understand your second statement. You'd rather reraise larger with a suited connector? Is this to disguise your hand? You said KQ has too much value against such an opponent. I would think by that logic, we would raise more if the hand has more value. |

I fold pre. If I would re-raise this nit, I would be more inclined to do it w/ a hand like 97s.
