I play every street exactly the same. I hate calling in that spot on the river so yeah, its pretty standard river fold I think

Re: NL50 AQo makes a str8 but gets raised on the river.
I think I might check the turn here against an unknown. If he has a jack or 8 he's most likely calling and the most obvious draw hit. You don't want him to raise you off the hand on the turn.

Def check turn here against unknown... What's his range for calling this flop-bet?

It looks tough to check the turn OOP. I like betting, we set the price and can bluff out a better hand. In position, checking would be better.

I'm actually more inclined to ch/fold this on the turn... Maybe this is nitty, but don't like to keep betting into this pot with an extremely marginal holding... How do u proceed if u hit one of your cards on the river (a, q)? Bet/fold?

Re: NL50 AQo makes a str8 but gets raised on the river.
I'd probably check/call smallish bet on turn. You're probably beaten but might have some outs. I don't think check/folding to a PSB is that bad or weak, OOP and a marginal hand that's possibly drawing dead is not a good combination.
How about check-raising the turn, representing JJ/TT/suited ace? If your opponent checks the turn behind with a single jack you can outdraw him or bluff the river, if he bets the turn raising might get him to fold even a small flush (or is this wishful thinking in NL50?). If opponent pushes to your raise you will lose the same amount as when you play the turn and river like OP. |
