UB support twice calls me incorrect names in same correspondence...
i opened an account at UB and funded it via peer-to-peer transfer. because i funded it this way, i have to email UB and have them manually initiate outbound transfers until i establish a history of successful deposits. in the process of executing one, they twice began emails by addressing me incorrectly. in both instances, my actual name not only appeared in the email header info, but in the text to which they were replying. i am not going to include all that, but please just notice that the two names that they called me are not even close to alike:
[ QUOTE ] Dear M. Levy, Thank you very much for contacting us! In order to make money transfers by yourself you must have a preferred account. This status is given once players have achieved a clear deposit history of at least 3 months. Money transfers from one UB account to another do not count to achieve a preferred status. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Dear Mr. Young, Thank you for contacting us! We are glad to inform you that we have completed your transfer request as detailed below: -xxx.00 Transfer To xxxxx 2007-AUG-10 07:18:35 PM [/ QUOTE ] this is fairly odd and probably at least some cause for concern. anyone have this happen to them? they have not yet responded to my emails on this subject despite having both completed the transfer and sending me confirmation of it (see above). thanks, CAterp |

Re: UB support twice calls me incorrect names in same correspondence..
UB support is by far the worst in the business, stuff like this doesn't even surprise me anymore.

This is news to me. I was not aware that UB even had support at all. How they stay in business is a mystery.

Re: UB support twice calls me incorrect names in same correspondence..
There's an option under sending a transfer to send an email confirmation to the other player. Keep in mind that UB support doing the p2p transfer themselves means wacky [censored] is probably going to get sent out and it's possible that second confirmation email is just a copy and pasted or forwarded email from their cashier to the support personnel.

Re: UB support twice calls me incorrect names in same correspondence..
OP,
It would seem that the most likely explanation is that they are using form emails to respond to people without correcting the name. This doesn't sound surprising, nor does it sound like reason for concern. I vaguely remember receiving emails from either Party or FTP with a similar thing in the past. |
