Official British Open Thread
Tiger goes for the Open 3-peat.
He finished 7th here in 1999, the Van De Velde year. Casey played well in 1999, as did Cabrera. Cabrera also played well last year. Hard to discount him again. Also of note, O'Hair and Scott both played well in The Open Championship the last two years. Furyk is also a frequent leaderboard presense with his typical can't finish result. I think that "failing" on 17 and 18 will get Tiger focused, just as missing the cut last year did. He never really seemed to have it in the 4th round today, but I'd be surprised if he didn't win in 4 weeks. changed title once tournament started to keep posts organized -evan |

Re: Carnoustie
I really like what I saw out of Justin Rose this weekend. I think he's going to be in the mix, especially with how well he's putting this year.
I hope that the weather is either brutal or completely bone dry. I don't want any in between. Make par difficult to achieve. |

Re: Carnoustie
Is Van de Veld still playing? Any chance he is in this years field?

Re: Carnoustie
Badds, Rose, and the other young foreigners all seem to have a lot of work ahead of them before they can deal with the pressure of a major. I think today pretty much solidified this view.

Re: Carnoustie
I expect a lot of Europeans to be in the mix on Sunday for a change, should be a great tournament.
