I've narrowed my next iron set to these. Some one sway me in some direction. Do the Apex have stronger lofts?

What is your handicap? Those things are pretty and feel nice, but today even most pros use some kind of cavity back. Forgiveness is king.
Or as I was informed, "Unless you are getting sponsored to play these, you shouldn't play these." |

Never played Hogans, I have a set of 690mb's, first gen, they are great, the 2 iron is actually the most forgiving 2 iron I have ever had, they do go quite high and are not as hard to hit as I remember the blade clubs of 10+years ago. FWIW, I am a golf professional(working, dont play for a living and play to a 0 or so). Also, are you buying used? the current Titleist blade is the 695 and they are probably going to discontinue it next week for a newer version of that(its Titleist National sales meeting this week).

I absolutely love my 690 mb's, they feel so damn good, and have a great flight. I've never hit those hogan's so I can't compare the two but I would recommend the 690's.

[/ QUOTE ] Unless you're about a 2 or less, these aren't for you if you want to get the most out of your game. However if you just get off on the feel of a forged iron hitting a good shot, which I completely understand, then that's different. I've got a set of 690's, they are beautiful no question. But there is just so little forgiveness. BO |
