Tight Table Question
So I recently moved up to 9/18 from 4/8. I'm comfortable with the play, but ran into something last night that is almost unheard of at the lower stakes tables and wanted to see what people would recommend in terms of adjusting to it.
The table I was at became incredibly tight for almost an hour, 2 or 3 times the blinds were taken down by an UTG raise, there were 4 or 5 chops of the blinds, and almost all hands were 2 or 3 to the flop. I feel that leaving the table is the best option, but if that isn't possible, what are the best and most important adjustments to make to play in these situation? |

Re: Tight Table Question
Start stealing some blinds.

Stroodle!
But on a serious note, if it starts getting really tight, start open raising lighter, steal blinds. Before you know it, people will start defending and you'll have a loose game again. |

Re: Tight Table Question
Place greater emphasis on Big Cards and "Top Pair" hands and less on draws because the tightness of the table generally will not give you odds for your draws. You will play fewer hands but play them stronger.

Re: Tight Table Question
As a sidenote: I love passive tables because players are much easier to read, able to take a lot more pots down uncontested and able to get away from hands easy.

Re: Tight Table Question
I know frequently that I choose not to defend because its not worth the drop. However, I think on the flip side it makes stealing blinds easier since the players will probably feel the way I do.
I assume at 9/18 it is still a fixed drop/pot. |

Re: Tight Table Question
Blind defenders are morons, once your money is out its in the pot not in your wallet.
