Re: Speech by Ron Paul and Why Is He Not A Frontrunner?
He is not a frontrunner because
1) mainstream media is owned by political parties 2) defective by design 'single-winner-single-vote' electoral system (also see, two-party system). It's important to note that if you poll the internet community, Ron Paul wins by landslides. And yet he will never be president. |

3) Name recognition. It's still very very early and Ron Paul is just becoming known to people oustide of his district. The 3 front runners all have lots of money or big names. Certainly the internet is helping Paul more than any other candidate, but can he gather enough donations to keep up money wise? Maybe when they start having debates on national television it will help him to gain a wider support of people if they actually let him talk for more than 6 minutes which they probably won't.

Re: Speech by Ron Paul and Why Is He Not A Frontrunner?
Because he believes in all kinds of "crazy" things, like putting us back on the gold standard, pulling out of the UN, etc...
Most people don't like a lot of change. They also don't like having to fend for themselves. |

Seems like he'd stand a chance going up against Hillary/Obama moreso than Giuliani if people weren't so [censored] retarded and took some time to learn more about him. Could be fooling myself.

Also, in case anybody was confused by the OP, Ron Paul was referring to the Congressional Gold Medal that Ronald and Nancy Reagan recieved in 2002:
http://www.congressionalgoldmedal.co...ancyReagan.htm Interesting Reagan didn't turn it down if he was in favor of such limited government. |

Re: Speech by Ron Paul and Why Is He Not A Frontrunner?
Ron Paul is not a frontrunner because only a very small percentage of people share his beliefs. Libertarians shouldn't let themselves be fooled by their massive presence on internet forums into thinking that there is some silent majority that actually wants minimalist government. |
