NL10 Stars j-j
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
I don't play a lot of cashgame,i mostly play sngs,so i got a couple questions: do i raise here preflop? Is my limp/call for set-value fine here? And what do i do once i have an overpair on a board like that?I mean,it doesn't look like the board wich usually helps the pre-flop agressor, but i'm not sure if his kind of small raise preflop means a bigger hand like q-q+.Do i donk this flop or check raise or do i fold to his bet? Hero ($10.80) CO ($4.40) Button ($8.25) SB ($13.35) BB ($10) UTG ($2.15) UTG+1 ($5.30) MP1 ($9.45) MP2 ($11.10) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, MP1 calls $0.10, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.10, CO calls $0.10, Button raises to $0.5, 2 folds, MP1 folds, Hero calls $0.40, CO calls $0.40. Flop: ($1.75) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, CO checks, Button bets $1, Hero ??? |

Re: NL10 Stars j-j
Any reads?
With Button's small raise pre, I might re-pop it, but it will be a big pot. I don't mind a limp here, but it makes the flop a little harder. I would have led the flop. As played, I'd probably raise. If he comes over the top, I'd give it up. |

Re: NL10 Stars j-j
JJ is a nice hand, and its good to try to isolate versus one single limper from MP1.
If you get called by him you will have position in a raised pot versus a single oppenent and I'd go for the benefits of it. As played you can either donk the flop or c/r. If you C/R your risking to give a freecard, but can make the most pressure + you take CO into a very bad spot if he has any hand but OESFD or a Set. But ... IMO is a C/R less respected then a Donk just b/c they allready put money into the pot + with a C/R you may will bloat a pot where you could be drawing where thin, an there are a LOT of turn and river cards you defnitely dont want to see... thats why I like a donk more. |

Re: NL10 Stars j-j
As played, I would have raised the flop $3.50 or $4, but it basically commits villain, so be prepared.
I like re-popping pre or leading the flop for $1.25 or $1.50 better. |

Re: NL10 Stars j-j
I'd raise this preflop and bet the flop too.
As played, I'd call the flop and reevalaute on the turn. I suppose a9, 87, TT and a flush draw would call a raise from us but then it seems a bit murky to get it all in when you're basically playing this for set value. I wouldn't raise/fold in that case since we'd be getting like 2.5:1. Our hand has showdown value, and we didn't take the initiative, so meh. |

Re: NL10 Stars j-j
PFR, I concur w/ seeno.
flop I weak lead, but I disagree with betting 3.50 or more because only better hands will stick around. We want AK or weaker pair hands to call incorrectly, even though we don't mind taking the pot down now. Bet $2. |
