i noticed today that i have a higher variance rate than some other players despite having a lower ag factor. want to guess why?

You are weak-tight relative to the field.
Your sequential plays, within a given session, typically generate strings of consecutive losses. These strings of losing plays strongly influence your total variance stats. |

Aggression is the ratio of bets and raises to calls. If your agf is 2 it just means that your bet or raise twice as frequently as you call. You can put a lot of money in play by betting or calling - you apparently do it by calling. Lucky |

K,
This is largely influenced by your opps' play. I too have a lower AF than most solid players I know, but my variance is higher due to my game selection. Mind if I ask what your SD/100 is? |

Calling too much lets your opponent take control of the hand. You have no idea where you are at compared to him. This makes you call down all sorts of hands. Sometimes your ahead when your underrepping your hand, sometimes behind like slow playing TPTK and c/cing to the river only to see 2pair+. High varience.
