Thanks for the link Zpin. Any place you can recommend that's near where I'm staying? By the looks of the site everything is limit?

Not Zpin, but I'll answer. Pretty much all limt unless you want to make a road trip to Tulalip (a couple hours drive north). They have NL there with 2/5 blinds, $200 max buy-in as well as a $5/$10 NL game.

Best place to play IMHO is Diamond Lils. Should be about a 30 minute drive from downtown, maybe a bit less with zero traffic. They spread $4/$8 up to $12/$24 limit and also spread O8. The $12/$24 uses $2 chips and can get pretty wild. You may also want to hit up Parkers casino in north Seattle. I'm not too familiar with their games, but there is a recent string where some 2+2ers played there so there are people on this board with experience there.

If you are planning to be here on a Sunday, then check out Diamond Lils weekly tourney. Pretty good action, plus you get a free breakfast!

Tulalip is more like 45 minutes than a couple hours. It is north.

Muckleshoot is about 45 minutes south

Diamond Lils maybe 15 minutes south

Casinos in Shoreline: maybe 15 minutes north

No legal poker in Seattle city limits so that is as close as you are going to get. Lils and Shoreline are just outside city limits.

The NL at Tulalip and Muckleshoot is not true NL because there is a rule in Washington that you cannot bet more than $500 on a single bet. So technically is big blind-500 spread limit. But people call it NL and the bet limit is rarely reached.

Agree with your time estimates if he is going there with no traffic. My time estimates assume that you are making the trip after work on a weeknight (leaving at 5-6 PM or so). As with most places, travel times vary greatly depending on the time of day.

For D'Lil's its approx 10 miles on I-5 to 405, then 2 miles to the 405 exit, and another 2 miles on the surface streets, thats 12 miles freeway, 2-5 miles surface (depending on where he is at in Capitol Hill). The freeway portion is also particularly bad in rush hours. I stick with my estimate of 30 minutes on that trip, YMMV (literally).

Anyone who drives on I-5 around Seattle between 4 and 6, unless going to the hospital is an idiot, IMO. Go get a happy hour drink or 2 and go at 7.

If you are on Cap Hill to get to Diamond Lils you get on 5 South at the bottom of Denny and get off at MLK (7.5 miles). It is about 3 miles down MLK to Rainier, which is the corner that Lils is near. No 405 necessary; I have no idea why you would go that way. I could get door to door 12 minutes when I lived at Denny and Olive.

I work in Redmond and live on the east side. It takes me 30 minutes to get to D'Lils from MS campus pretty much anytime. I was thinking that Cap Hill was about the same, but you are probably closer to correct. I will concede on the route - yours sounds alot faster.

To the OP - You definately want to avoid the roads anytime before 7 PM if possible. Your commutes will be much shorter if you can wait until after 7.

Thanks for all the information gentleman. Unfortunately I don't have a rental on this trip so looks like I'm out of luck, har har. Maybe I'll just install FTP on this laptop and buck the system.

Thanks,

Chris
