Does any anyone know what year the California Bell Club opened?
This one is for the old timers.
The California Bell Club was the first "super club" to open in the LA area outside of the six 35 table clubs in Gardena. It was located on Eastern Avenue between what is now the Commerce and the Bike. I made a small bet regarding the year it opened. Does anyone know the exact year it opened with perhaps a link to the source (Note: I've already found two different opening years in the Google rec.gambling.poker newsgroup archives). ~ Rick |

Reading more, I see that Rex Jones was the assistant editor of the California Bell's Monthly newsletter ("Poker Talk") in the early 80's.
Of course, he also wrote for Gambling Times and Poker Player in the 80's but that's another story. Best Wishes Howard |

I don't know, but I work with someone that dealt there. I will ask her today if she knows.
