5 max vs. 6 max
Are there any big strategic differences in the two ? if so, what? Also, is one more profitable than the other?

Re: 5 max vs. 6 max
pretty much, not really. blind play is a little more important, knowing how to play 3-way+ is a little less important. you're just never 3 off the button.

Re: 5 max vs. 6 max
Just eliminate UTG (6max) play standards and play as MP or later. Hands like A9o, KJo, KTo, can all be opened with from UTG now comfortably.

Re: 5 max vs. 6 max
I think there is quite a large difference between 5 and 6 players. 5 max is more psychological, IMO. If I am playing, I am raising. It also calls for much more bluffing. The opponents will try to trap, but they will loose all of their chips faster in the process. It is much harder to hit the flop 4 and 5 handed, than it is in 6- max.

Re: 5 max vs. 6 max
5-max tens to be a lot more aggressive and you will be playing more tables that end up 3 handed or HU.

[/ QUOTE ] If your comfortable playing a lot of 3-4 handed then it's probably more profitable. If not, then not. It's impossible to say that one game is more profitable in absolute terms. If you were to compare 6m hold'em to PLO, for me clearly it's hold'em because I don't have a clue how to play PLO. For most PLO players the answer is the opposite. |
